TendinopathyInjury & Anatomy

A persistent, load-related tendon pain and dysfunction.

Tendinopathy is a persistent tendon disorder marked by pain, reduced load tolerance and impaired function, typically driven by loads the tendon is not conditioned for. It is now understood as a problem of tendon structure and capacity rather than simple inflammation, which is why progressive loading — not rest alone — is the cornerstone of management. Common sites include the Achilles and patellar tendons.
