Return to SportRehab & Return to Sport

The staged process of getting an athlete back to competition after injury.

Return to Sport describes the criteria-based process of progressing an injured athlete back to full training and competition. Modern frameworks use a continuum — return to participation, return to sport, then return to performance — and rely on objective criteria (strength, hop tests, psychological readiness) rather than time alone. The aim is to reduce re-injury risk while restoring performance.
